Our founder and owner, Sushant Raut, has worked his way up through the apprenticeship route; his family owned and ran the oldest Yamaha dealership in Vasai. He learned to fix motorcycles from his father.

He wanted to learn more, however, so he completed his ITI in Automobile Engineering from Fr. Agnel’s Institute in Mumbai in 1995.

Authentic Point was started in 1995, after Sushant graduated. Along the way, he has helped with reliability testing for the Yamaha YZF-R15 and FZ15, while getting trained to service and repair Yamaha India’s imported offerings like the 1000cc R1 and MT-01. He then worked as a pro-shop engineer for Yamaha. He has also ridden the length and breadth of the country – literally – at Yamaha’s request, on an SZ.

Among Sushant’s personal collection one can count a Lambretta, a Rajdoot GTS 175 aka ‘Bobby’, a Yamaha RX135 that he has modified with an offset rear monoshock, and a 1959 Innocenti 48.

Authentic Point has now gone from a one-man operation to five employees, and at any given point of time you’ll see everything including Honda Activas, Royal Enfields, Harley-Davidsons, and even an Aprilia, Triumph, or Ducati, if it’s your lucky day.
